Introduction: The group pursues academic research in the field of electrochemical energy storage. Main focus of the research work is the development of solid-state Li-ion batteries for various future applications. The current research work comprises the synthesis of functional materials and their in-depth structural, as well as electrochemical characterizations. Furthermore, the group deals with the manufacturing and characterization of fully functional solid-state Li-ion battery cells. The synthesized bulk-type materials and thin-films, prepared by chemical and physical methods, are characterized regarding their structure-property relationships. Moreover, the occurring complex ageing mechanisms during battery cell operation are investigated and unraveled.
