The mission of the department is well expressed by its name: besides the educational and research activity in connection with all aspects of organic chemistry, the development and teaching of industrial technologies relating to natural and synthetic materials represent the main stream of our activity. Within this scope our strategic areas include, first of all, the pharmaceutical industry (pharmaceutical engineering, pharmaceutical technology), the agrochemical, fine chemical, additive and cosmetic industries, furthermore some of the applied macromolecular areas such as packaging industry fire retarded engineering materials etc.
Research work is carried out in the framework of EU projects, national applied and basic research projects, as well as industrial contracts.
Our department consists of 45 staff members and 25 PhD students.
